The Origin of X2 Kui Buri Design

The Stones……...
The idea for the use of rock and stone comes from the seasonal appearance of sea pebbles that find themselves scattered along the beach during winter months. The "Mountain Rock" used throughout the resort is all from local quarries.

The Privacy……...
The external stone walls of the Villas appear as walls and not as a building, creating an invisibility of design. What is a structural wall for one villa appears as a fence wall to another villa. By using this invisible wall design and clever landscaping; villas are private without the need to be encased in four foot high fences. This importantly allows cool sea breezes to pass through the villa area with minimal disruption and provides privacy without isolation.

The Walkway…….…
The boardwalk arrangement was developed from a maze, where a journey is an experience of unknowns…with each turn of a corner uncovering a new visual experience.

The Lighting……...
Lighting throughout the resort is also invisible. The general areas have a soft hidden lighting whereby structure is illuminated without being obviously lit.

The Landscape……..…
Trees and views were focal points in the design, so that the layout made the existing landscape a hero of every scene. The driveway and lobby were positioned to align with the huge Tamarind tree directly behind the lobby.  The pine forest became a meadow of tranquility viewed from the thinkers bench in the lobby, and of course the main pool was located to fall under the spell of the 50 year old Tamarind tree that shades the area.
